This is the topic for my mashup. I feel the controversy and detrimental effects of this issue can bring forth many emotions. This is a still image and the beginning piece of my repetend. The intertextual background is that of the Wikipedia page itself. Its a concrete beginning, the definition and written example. The Proairetic Code is most dominant. I feel this clip fits most as the first clip with an overall definition of Greed.

This is an overwhelming video that projects the mentally and physically exhausting effects of being greedy. The video uses humor and plays on how ridiculous people act during acts of greed. The repetend here follows the first clip of Greed. It is a video image with a lot of movement and a fast beat. It is literally exhausting just to watch it. The semantic code is most dominant in this clip. The feelings associated with the video are draining. I feel it gives a sense of just how it feels to live a greedy life.

The next few images are of games that children play. These games desensitize the concern we should have regarding greed. Greed can grow into the root of evil. Should we play games enticing children to be more greedy? These are still image clips. The most dominant code is the symbolic code. There is a great deal of irony associated with children's games that focus only on being greedy. This is something that we should try to break of our children's behavior so they grow up expecting to live with in moderation and any limitations presented to them. The position of these clips following the child-like song clip was exactly thatl

This is a still shot image that represents corporate greed. Many of us can associate with this image and are trying to figure out how we too can avoid being the little guy with the crumbs for our own futures. The cultural code is most dominant for this clip. I feel that this images overwhelming negative connotation based on life's experiences and the media is what will make an impact of my viewers.

This is an audio image. It is the corporate greed anthem song promoting these acts of corruption and deceit from wall street and other influential corporations. The song has the most impact since it is following the image before. Because of this the most dominant code is the proairetic code. This song is the audio equivalent to what the prior image represents.

These next images are showing the essence of what I want to say. That because of greed, today, there is no more "American Dream" The idealistic American Way that once was is being destroyed for our generations to come. These are still shot images that portray a dominant symbolic code. The American Dream is something everyone has heard of and many people have dreamed of. However, today's connotation of it is very different then it has been in the past. For many people there is internal conflict when they comapre their lives to the dream they may have once had.

After all, this is America, why is half of the population living at or below poverty level while others make more than they could ever need? Our politicians, celebrities, sports stars and CEO's make an astronomical amount more than our educators, social workers, police officers, and fire fighters. Our unemployment rate is horrendous. They say there are less people on unemployment now than before but many of those people are now left with out any income because their benefits have exhausted and they have still not found sufficient work. Why is it a struggle for many Americans while others have little to stress about financially?
